Installs straight from this page. No app store, no Google account, and no phone number required.
- Download by tapping “Download for Android” above.
- Open the
tri1-space-android.apkfile from your notification shade or Files app. - Allow the install when Android asks (tap Settings, turn on “Allow from this source,” go back, then Install). This is normal for apps outside the Play Store.
- Open TRI1 and allow notifications, microphone, and camera so messages and calls work.
- Create your TRI1 ID on first launch. Your keys are generated and stay only on your device.
- Back it up and keep it safe. Your private keys never leave your device, and your backup is the only way to restore your account.
- Share your ID or QR from the “My ID” tab so friends can add you.
- Add a contact from the Contacts tab: enter their TRI1 ID, or scan or pick their QR code.
- Send a message. Every chat is end-to-end encrypted automatically.
- Start a call with the call icon, then choose Audio or Video. Encrypted and peer-to-peer.

Confirm the .apk hasn't been tampered with
Every TRI1 build is signed with our private release key. Android checks that signature automatically when you install. If a single byte is altered, the install is rejected. You can also verify it yourself:

Most "secure" apps still tie you to a phone number, keep your keys on their servers, and can read your metadata. TRI1 was designed from zero so none of that is even possible.
