Delete your data

How to ask us to erase what we hold, what we can actually delete, and how long anything is kept.

Applies to the TRI1 Space Private Messenger Android app and web app, published by Tri1. Space Technologies Inc.

How to request deletion

  1. Email us from any address, using the button below.
  2. Include your TRI1 public ID. Open the app, go to My TRI1 ID, tap Show, then Copy TRI1 ID, and paste it into the email. We need it because it is the only thing that identifies your records. We hold no name, email address, or phone number to look you up by.
  3. Say what you want deleted: everything, or only specific items such as your public profile or a business page.
  4. We action the request and reply to confirm. We aim to complete deletions within 30 days.
Email a deletion request

Or write to [email protected] yourself.

What we cannot delete, and why

DataWhy
Your messages, calls and filesThey are end-to-end encrypted and stored on your device. We never held a readable copy, so there is nothing for us to erase. Delete the app, or clear a chat inside it.
Your private keys and identity backupThey never leave your device. We have never had them and cannot recover them for anyone, including you.
Messages you already sent to someone elseThey are on that person's device, the same as a text message. We cannot reach into it.

Retention

Deletion requests are completed within 30 days. Undelivered mailbox items are removed automatically once delivered, and in any case are not kept beyond 30 days. Crash and diagnostic reports are kept for at most 90 days. Ordinary server backups may retain a copy for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are overwritten. Records we are required by law to keep are kept only for as long as the law requires.

Deleting without contacting us

You do not need us for most of it. TRI1 has no account and no password. Your identity is a key that lives on your phone.

Uninstalling the app erases your identity, your keys and every message on that device, permanently. If you may want your identity back, export your backup first: My TRI1 ID → Settings → Profile & TRI1 ID. Without that backup, no one, including us, can restore it.
